5minmindful is designed with classroom privacy as a core principle. We collect the absolute minimum data necessary to operate the service.

What We Don’t Collect

  • No student data of any kind
  • No student names, IDs, or identifiers
  • No classroom recordings or screenshots
  • No location data
  • No advertising trackers
  • No third-party analytics on the free tier

What We Store Locally

All app data is stored in your browser’s localStorage on your device. This data never leaves your computer:

  • Your selected grade band (K-2 or 3-5)
  • Morning message edits (saved by date)
  • Room vibe selections (used to improve meeting curation)
  • Recently used content IDs (to prevent repeats)
  • Pro activation status

You can clear all data at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage for this site.

Pro Tier & Payments

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment details on our servers or in the app. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

COPPA & FERPA Compliance

5minmindful does not collect, store, or process any student personally identifiable information (PII). The app is used by teachers to project content on a smartboard — students do not interact with the application directly. No student accounts exist. This design intentionally avoids triggering COPPA or FERPA requirements.

District IT Compatibility

5minmindful contains no advertising, no embedded third-party trackers, and no external content loads beyond the initial page. The app works offline after first load. It is designed to pass district content filters without issue.

Terms of Service

By using 5minmindful, you agree to the following:

  • The free tier is available to anyone without an account. No guarantees of uptime or availability are made for the free tier.
  • The Pro tier is a $20/year subscription billed annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time through Stripe’s customer portal.
  • All mindfulness content is provided for educational purposes. It is not a substitute for professional mental health services.
  • We reserve the right to update content, pricing, and features at any time.
